5月6日早间，全球第二大加密数字币以太坊（ETH）价格突破3500美元，再创历史新高。数日前，在突破3000美元关口后，以太坊价格屡刷新高。比特币则处于反复震荡中，向来与其“一损俱损”的以太坊的强势表现让人意外。

李威廉认为，从消息面来看，加拿大在4月末上线了三支以太坊ETF；欧洲投资银行也传出消息将在以太坊网络上发行数字债券。这些消息都直接利好ETH价格的上涨。
